Sad News!  Due to complications with the server, frequency of website updating will be limited.

I am able to update text and links easily, but am having complications with pictures.  All current images and content will remain intact for the remainder of the school year (and through the summer) but new pictures will be very limited.  I apologize for the change, and I have very much appreciated all your wonderful feedback about our classroom website!  I know how important it is for you and your family to be able to see your children at work.                                                                                                                                                 Miss Rebecca Smith

This is Miss Smith's second year at Champlain Elementary.  She previously taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade at CP Smith.  Miss Smith received her BA in Elementary Education and Fine Arts from Saint Michael's College in 2003.  Miss Smith is President of the Burlington Education Association, a volunteer with Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program, and a member of the Vermont Workers' Center.  She is proud to live in Burlington with her new fiancée and dog. She also enjoys Ashtanga and Bikram yoga, snowboarding, jogging, painting, and reading.

Miss Ely is finishing her career at St. Michael's College, then she'll be applying for teaching jobs!  Best of luck, Miss Ely!  We miss you.
Joanne Carey is a para-educator in our class.  She is here to help us out with our learning.  Ms. Carey has worked with children in Burlington schools for 6  years and is a grandmother of 8!
