| We begin each day with our Morning Meeting. We gather in a circle and greet each other, share some news, do a group activity, and read the announcements for the day. Morning Meeting sets a tone of respectful learning and establishes a climate of trust. Morning Meeting motivates children by addressing the need to feel a sense of significance and belonging in a fun, familiar way. We practice social skills like greeting each other with friendliness and eye contact, listening, responding, group problem solving, noticing, cooperation, empathy, and teamwork. These skills are a foundation for every lesson, every transition time, every lining up, and every upset and conflict, all day and all year long. Morning Meeting is a microcosm of the way we wish our schools to be: communities full of learning, safe and respectful, and challenging for all.

We start each meeting by greeting everyone in the room. |

We know how to say "Good Morning" in so many ways! Look at all the languages we can speak in our class. |
We do some really fun activities! Most focus on observation, cooperation, and social skills.

Every day we read our News and Announcements. Students write on our chart as part of our morning routine, and their input becomes an important part of the News and Announcements for the day.
